May 10 (Bloomberg) -- Egypt’s benchmark EGX 30 Index rose for a second day, advancing 0.5 percent to 4,957.68 at the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo, the highest level since May 4.

Abu Kir Fertilizers & Chemical Industries Co. (ABUK EY) surges the most since May 3, gaining 1.5 percent to 203.36 Egyptian pounds. The manufacturer of chemicals, urea and ammonium nitrate fertilizers said nine-month profit rose to 990.6 million Egyptian pounds ($167 million) from 878.7 million pounds a year earlier.
Maridive & Oil Services (MOIL EY) climbed the most since April 19, advancing 2.7 percent to $3.49. The energy services company said it plans to pay a cash dividend of 6 cents per share.
