May 5 (Bloomberg) -- Turkey’s benchmark ISE National 100 Index fell 62.66, or 0.1 percent, to 69,374.88 at 5:30 p.m. when trading ended in Istanbul.

Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayii AS (BTCIM TI), the cement producer based in Izmir in western Turkey, surged 1.04 liras, or 11 percent, to 10.12 liras, gaining for a sixth day. Its unit Baticim Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS was invited by Turkey’s asset sales agency to buy two plants with a combined 59.5 megawatts capacity in southern Turkey by a July 4 deadline, according to statements to the bourse yesterday. The company can also buy three smaller plants from the agency, Baticim said.
Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (PETKM TI): Turkey’s biggest petrochemicals producer gained 7 kurus, or 2.6 percent, to 2.75 liras. First-quarter net income almost quadrupled from a year earlier to 77.2 million liras ($50 million), Petkim said in a statement to the bourse after the market closed yesterday. The profit exceeded estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
