WHAT TO WATCH: *The central bank holds board meeting on interest rates. *Prime Minister Vladimir Putin travels to Penza to discuss the restoration and construction of theaters, meets with artists. *The Audit Chamber discusses its findings on budget spending for anti-terrorist measures in Moscow. *World Health Organization discusses noncommunicable diseases at ministerial meeting in Moscow.

EQUITY MOVERS: *OAO Sberbank said it picked Bank of New York Mellon Corp. to act as its depositary bank for its ADR program. *OAO Rosneft reported first-quarter profit of $3.88 billion, beating estimates. *Norilsk Nickel said first-quarter nickel output was little changed at 71,000 metric tons; copper output fell 3 percent to 94,000 tons. *RusHydro’s said first-quarter power output rose 14 percent to 16.85 million kilowatt-hours. *The central bank reports weekly money supply.

MARKETS: *The Micex Index added 0.3 percent to 1,749.65. *The dollar-denominated RTS Index added 0.6 percent to 2,028.94. *Russia’s benchmark 2018 ruble Eurobond fell, with the yield rising 6 basis points to 6.689 percent. *The ruble strengthened 0.7 percent to 27.5310 per dollar and weakened 0.3 percent to 40.7500 per euro. *The MSCI Emerging Markets Index fell 0.4 percent to 1,196.31 at 8:48 a.m. *Crude for June delivery fell 0.4 percent to $112.46 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 8:50 a.m. *Brent crude lost 0.3 percent at $124.63 at 8:41 a.m. *Gold for immediate delivery fell 0.2 percent to $1,533.78 an ounce at 8:51 a.m.
