Turkey’s benchmark ISE National 100 index rose 511.56, or 0.8 percent, to 68,565.60 yesterday.
BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (BIMAS TI): Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (ULKER TI), the owner of Godiva chocolates, sold its 10.1 percent stake in the Turkish discount store chain BIM for 774.5 million liras ($509 million), Ulker said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange after the market closed yesterday. Ulker Biskuvi sold the BIM shares at 50.75 liras each yesterday, it said. BIM was unchanged at 53 liras. Ulker Biskuvi rose 4 kurus, or 0.7 percent, to 5.76 liras.
Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi & Ticaret AS (VESBE TI): The Turkish household-appliances maker plans to pay 22.4 million liras, or 0.118 lira per share, in gross dividends from 2010 profit on May 30, it said in a statement to the bourse after the market closed yesterday. The shares fell 2 kurus, or 0.7 percent, to 3.04 liras.
