Casino, Groupe Crit, Schneider Electric: French Equity Preview

The following companies’ shares may be active in Paris. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.

April futures on the benchmark CAC Index climbed 0.4 percent to 3,992.50 at 8:08 a.m. in Paris.

The CAC 40 fell 1.5 percent to 3,976.60 yesterday. The broader SBF 120 decreased 1.5 percent to 2.981.26.

Casino Guichard-Perrachon (CO FP): The French retailer said first-quarter sales rose 19 percent to 7.85 billion euros ($11 billion). The supermarket chain said it targets 700 million euros in asset sales in 2011. It confirmed 2011 forecasts and said it expects to gain market share in France this year. The shares fell 1.7 percent to 70.32 euros.

Groupe Crit (CEN FP): The temporary employment services company said 2010 net income rose 89 percent to 14 million euros. The shares rose 0.6 percent to 21.93 euros.

Evolis (ALTVO FP): The plastic cards printer said first-quarter sales rose 12 percent to 10 million euros and estimated revenue growth of at least 10 percent in 2011. The shares fell 0.1 percent to 16.55 euros.

Hologram Industries (HOL FP): The designer and manufacturer of holograms said first-quarter sales rose 40 percent to 9 million euros. The shares gained 1.1 percent to 14.88 euros.

Rallye SA (RAL FP): The holding company for supermarkets and other retail outlets said sales rose 18 percent to 8 billion euros. Rallye fell 0.7 percent to 33.77 euros.

Riber SA (RIB FP): The semiconductor machinery maker said first-quarter sales rose 98 percent to 5.7 million euros. Its order book at the end of the quarter more than doubled from a year earlier to 21.3 million euros. The shares slid 2.1 percent to 3.72 euros.

Schneider Electric SA (SU FP): The company, responding to “market rumors,” said it is “not currently” in discussions with Tyco International Inc. about a potential strategic transaction between the two companies. The stock dropped 3.5 percent to 112.90 euros.

Tessi SA (TES FP): The document processing company said 2010 profit rose 11 percent to 26.5 million euros. The shares were unchanged at 67.20 euros.
