Wesizwe Platinum and William Tell: South African Stocks Preview

March 23 (Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or fall in South Africa. Symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close.

South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index gained 191.23, or 0.6 percent, to 30,868.31 at the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.

Jasco Electronics Holdings Ltd. (JSC SJ): The telecommunications company is scheduled to publish earnings for the six months through December. Shares in Jasco were unchanged at 97 cents.

Wesizwe Platinum Ltd. (WEZ SJ): The explorer of the metal said it expects to post earnings per share of between 39 cents and 42 cents for the 12 months to Dec. 31, compared with a loss of 6.65 cents a year earlier. The stock declined 1 cent, or 0.4 percent, to 2.29 rand.

William Tell Holdings Ltd. (WTL): The manufacturer of chipboard and wood-based panels said it received a 6 million rand grant ($868,306) from South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry for a new production plant near Johannesburg. Shares in the company were unchanged at 72 cents.

Anglo American Plc (AAUKY US) gained 0.3 percent to $24.95. AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU US) rose 0.5 percent to $45.23. BHP Billiton Ltd. (BBL US) declined 1.3 percent to $74.31. DRDGold Ltd. (DROOY US) jumped 1.7 percent to $4.68. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) fell 1.7 percent to $16.52. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) advanced 0.8 percent to $12.46. Impala Platinum Holdings (IMPUY US) rose 3.4 percent to $28.28. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) jumped 3.1 percent to $4.96. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) gained 1.3 percent to $53.99.
