March 9 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 4:30 close. lunch break in Bangkok.
The SET Index fell 1.56, or 0.2 percent, to 1,017.01, halting a four-day rally.
Energy companies: PTT Pcl (PTT TB), Thailand’s biggest energy company, dropped 1.2 percent to 344 baht. PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP TB), Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, lost 1.3 percent to 184 baht.
Crude oil dropped for a second day in New York as speculation mounted that OPEC will consider boosting output to compensate for disruptions in Libya.
Central Plaza Hotel Pcl (CENTEL TB), a hotel operator, rose 1.4 percent to 5.05 baht, the highest close since Dec. 16. Central Plaza expects 2011 revenue to grow 20 percent to 11 billion baht on higher bookings from India, China, Australia and Russia, Thai-language Krungthep Turakij newspaper reported, citing Senior Vice President Ronnachit Mahattanapreut. Ronnachit was not available for comment after a call to his office.
Thai Airways International Pcl (THAI TB), the country’s largest carrier, climbed 3 percent to 42.5 baht on expectations lower oil prices will cut its fuel costs. Jet Kerosene prices in Singapore declined 1.1 percent to $129.60 a barrel today, according to a data compiled by Bloomberg.
