Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Austria’s benchmark ATX Index lost 1.8 percent to 2,923.55 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Vienna, the lowest price this month.
The following are among the most active stocks in the Austrian market today. Symbols are in parentheses.
Erste Group Bank AG (EBS AV), Eastern Europe’s second-biggest lender, and Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI AV), the region’s third-biggest, lost 2.5 percent to 37.74 euros and 1.4 percent to 43.51 euros, respectively.
European banking shares posted the worst performance among 19 industry groups in the Stoxx Europe 600 Index today.
OMV AG (OMV AV) slid 4.2 percent to 32.57 euros, the biggest retreat in four months. Central Europe’s biggest oil company is withdrawing all non-essential staff from Libya after recent unrest, according to Michaela Huber, a spokeswoman for the company.
Strabag SE (STR AV) slid 5.3 percent to 20.67 euros, the biggest retreat since May. Central Europe’s largest construction company said its 2010 output volume fell 2 percent to 12.8 billion euros. In November, Strabag forecast 2010 output volume of 12.9 billion euros.
