Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Virender Sehwag scored 175 to lead India to an 87-run victory over Bangladesh in the opening game of the Cricket World Cup.
Virat Kohli scored 100 not out for India, which reached 370-4 in its 50 overs after losing the toss and batting first in the matchup of two of the tournament’s host nations.
Munaf Patel then took 4-48 as India limited Bangladesh to 283-9 in its innings. Tamin Iqbal scored 70 to lead Bangladesh, while Shakib Al Hasan had 55.
Kenya meets New Zealand and Sri Lanka, the third hosting country, plays Canada in tomorrow’s games.
