Tottenham Beats Milan in Champions League; Valencia, Shalke Tie

Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Tottenham won 1-0 at AC Milan to open the round of 16 in European soccer’s Champions League. Schalke came from behind to tie Valencia 1-1.

Peter Crouch scored in the 80th minute as Tottenham upset seven-time European champion Milan at the San Siro stadium. Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a goal disallowed in stoppage time after being called for a foul.

Raul Gonzalez’s goal in the 64th minute gave Schalke the draw in Valencia, Spain. Roberto Soldado scored for Valencia in the first half.

Tottenham and Schalke will host the return matches in the two-game series on March 9.
