Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Hall of Fame cornerback Rod Woodson rejoined the Oakland Raiders as an assistant under new coach Hue Jackson.

Woodson, who played with the Raiders for the final two seasons of his 17-year National Football League career, will help coach the team’s cornerbacks. He most recently worked as an analyst for the NFL Network and a color commentator on the Big Ten Network. His hiring was announced in a statement from the team.

An 11-time Pro Bowl selection and the NFL’s defensive player of the year in 1993, Woodson ranks third all-time with 71 interceptions and holds league records for career interception return yardage (1,483) and interception returns for touchdowns (12). He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
