Ann Joo, Dayang, Ho Wah, Pintaras: Malaysia Equity Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the previous close, unless stated otherwise.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index fell 2.1 percent to 1,503.99.

Ann Joo Resources Bhd. (AJR MK): The Malaysian steelmaker will issue 500 million ringgit ($164 million) of five-year bonds to help refinance debt and fund the construction of a blast furnace, according to an exchange filing. Ann Joo slipped 0.7 percent to 2.95 ringgit.

Analabs Resources Bhd. (ALR MK): The provider of industrial waste recycling services said it will invest 7.5 million ringgit on an additional production line to manufacture resin-impregnated papers. The stock was unchanged at 1.61 ringgit.

Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd. (DEHB MK): The oil and gas services provider said it won a 802 million-ringgit contract to provide topside structural maintenance services to Petronas Carigali Sdn., according to a company statement. Dayang fell 3.4 percent to 2.27 ringgit.

Eastern Pacific Industrial Corp. (EPIC MK): The oil and gas services provider said profit in the fourth quarter rose 55 percent from a year earlier to 14.9 million ringgit. The shares lost 2.9 percent to 2.35 ringgit.

Ho Wah Genting Bhd. (HWG MK): The manufacturer of wires and cables said it will spend 25 million ringgit on its tin ore mining operations. The company is aiming to produce 2,000 tons of tin ore a year and expects a “commendable” return on its investment, it said in a statement. Ho Wah dropped 5.9 percent to 80.5 sen.

Pintaras Jaya Bhd. (PINT MK): The builder said profit in the second quarter ended Dec. 31 doubled from a year earlier to 8.24 million ringgit. Pintaras added 1 percent to 2.07 ringgit.
