Feb. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon’s National Action Party won yesterday’s gubernatorial election in Baja California Sur, preliminary results showed.
Marcos Covarrubias won with 40.4 percent of votes, beating Institutional Revolutionary Party candidate Ricardo Barroso, who received 33.5 percent support, according to a preliminary count provided by the state electoral institute on its website.
Baja California Sur, which is part of the Baja California peninsula that borders the U.S. state of California, is home to the Cabo San Lucas beach resorts.
