Larijani Calls Tunisia, Egypt Uprisings an “Islamic Awakening”

Feb. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Ali Larijani, speaker of Iran’s parliament, said protests in Egypt and Tunisia represent an “Islamic Awakening” and that Egyptians don’t want a “camel democracy,” Fars News Agency reported yesterday.

The U.S. also wants to manage the situation in Egypt, in spite of attempts to suggest otherwise, the news service said, citing a speech Larijani delivered to military commanders in the Northern city of Babolsar.
