Feb. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Jamie Davis, president of Comcast Corp.’s Versus sports network, said he is leaving the network after its merger with NBC Universal.
NBC Sports, run by Dick Ebersol, will assume oversight of Versus, Davis said today in an interview.
Versus had $65 million in net operating cash flow in 2010, the channel’s best year ever, Davis said. He said he hasn’t decided whether to consider other opportunities at Philadelphia-based Comcast.
“The business is on solid footing,” he said. “We were looking at $80 million based on what we were planning next year.”
NBC Sports plans to announce Davis’s departure tomorrow, he said.
Davis’s decision to leave Versus was reported earlier by Sports Business Journal, which also said Mike McCarley has been tappened by Comcast to run the Golf Channel.
