Jan. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Vodafone Group Plc will name Gerard Kleisterlee, chief executive officer of Royal Philips Electronics NV, as the mobile-phone company’s next chairman within the next four days, the Sunday Telegraph reported, citing unidentified people close to the company.
Kleisterlee’s appointment will be confirmed before Vodafone’s third-quarter trading update on Feb. 3, the newspaper said. Kleisterlee is expected to join Vodafone’s board as a non-executive director, before stepping up to the position of chairman at the company’s annual shareholder meeting this summer, the newspaper said.
Bobby Leach, a Vodafone spokesman, declined to comment when reached by Bloomberg News today.
