Jan. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Tottenham made a 26 million-pound ($41.2 million) bid for Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, the Mail on Sunday reported, without citing anyone.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp sees the 25-year-old Llorente as his top target of the so-called transfer window, which closes tomorrow, the newspaper said.
Tottenham, which is also interested in Newcastle’s Andy Carroll, faces competition from Liverpool for Llorente, the Mail reported.
Bilbao President Fernando Garcia Macua has rebuffed a number of attempts to pride Llorente from the club, the newspaper said.
