Sunoco Logistics Partners LP shut a 10-inch crude oil pipeline running between Eola, Oklahoma, and Maysville yesterday after a leak, Thomas Golembeski, a company spokesman, said in an e-mail.
“The crude oil is contained and a cleanup is under way,” he said. “Customer impact is minimal.”
The line had a potential 1,250-barrel discharge near Maysville, according to two reports filed yesterday with the National Response Center.
Sunoco Logistics, a master limited partnership formed in 2002, owns and operates more than 3,350 miles of crude oil trunk pipelines and 500 miles of gathering lines in the U.S. Southwest, Gulf Coast and Midwest regions, according to the Philadelphia-based partnership’s website.
