Brazilian Stock Movers: CSN, Usiminas, Embraer, Helbor

Jan. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies are having unusual price changes in Sao Paulo trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 9:40 a.m. New York time. Preferred shares are usually the most-traded class of stock.

The Bovespa stock index rose 0.1 percent to 70,768.10.

Cia. Siderurgica Nacional SA (CSNA3 BS) fell 0.7 percent to 29.49 reais. Brazil’s third-largest steelmaker said in a regulatory filing today it owns 5 percent of rival Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA, the country’s second-biggest steelmaker.

Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA (USIM5 BS) dropped 1 percent to 20.09 reais.

Embraer SA (EMBR3 BS) jumped 3.9 percent to 12.75 reais, the biggest increase since Sept. 20. Goldman Sachs added the world’s fourth-largest airplane maker to its “conviction buy” list, according to a report published today.

Helbor Empreendimentos SA (HBOR3 BS) declined 1.4 percent to 20.11 reais. The real-estate company reported fourth-quarter contracted sales of 310.1 million reais ($184.2 million), down 17 percent from the same period last year, according to a regulatory filing.
