Jan. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Five Taiwan insurance companies including the subsidiaries of Cathay Financial Holding Co. and Shin Kong Financial Holding Co. applied for a combined $2.3 billion quota to invest in China’s stock and bond market, the Apple Daily News reported, without saying where it got the information. The companies may get the official approvals in June, the newspaper said.
