The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:11 p.m. New York time.
The Lima General Index gained 0.5 percent to 23,178.45. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index rose 0.6 percent to 3,263.27.
Gold and zinc producers gained after the metals advanced in New York and London and investors bet on Peru’s continued economic growth, said Jorge Monsante, chief executive of Lima-based brokerage Credibolsa SAB.
Alturas Minerals Corp. (ALT PE), a Canadian gold and copper exploration company, rose 3.7 percent to 28 cents, a two-year high. Minera IRL Ltd. (MIRL PE), a U.K. minerals explorer with a gold mine in Peru, rose for a third day, adding 1.5 percent to $1.37. Cia. Minera de San Ignacio de Morococha SA (MOROCOI1 PE), the Lima-based zinc producer, gained 2.2 percent to 95 centimos.
Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca SA (POMALCC1 PE), a unit of Grupo Oviedo, fell 2.8 percent to 69 centimos after sugar declined for the second time in three days in New York.
