Colombian Stocks: Chocolates, Corficolombiana, Grupo Aval

The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 1:30 p.m. New York time.

The IGBC Index increased 0.9 percent to 15,805.05, while the Colcap Index added 0.7 percent to 1,866.12.

Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores SA (AVAL CB) jumped 4.1 percent to a record 1,770 pesos, the biggest increase since Oct. 11. Colombia’s largest financial holding company rose as investors speculated the company’s plan to sell shares abroad may be completed early next year, according to Alexander Goenaga, a trader at the Colombian unit of Chilean brokerage Celfin Capital SA.

Corp. Financiera Colombiana (PFCORCOL CB), the investment-banking arm of Grupo Aval, rose 2.6 percent to 35,000 pesos.

Grupo Nacional de Chocolates SA (CHOCOLA CB), Colombia’s largest food producer, rose 1.5 percent to a record 27,400 pesos. Revenue in the food industry will rise to 32.7 billion pesos ($16.7 million) in 2011 from 32.4 billion pesos this year, according to ANDI, as Colombia’s main business association is known, La Republica newspaper reported.
