Paris’ Hotel de Crillon, Hemingway Favorite, Sold to Saudi Royal

Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Paris’s Hotel de Crillon has been sold to “an eminent member of the royal family of Saudi Arabia,” said the seller, Groupe du Louvre.

The managers of the hotel, Groupe Concorde, will manage the property for six to 12 months, according to the statement by Groupe du Louvre, a unit of Greenwich, Connecticut-based Starwood Capital Group. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The restaurant of the hotel on the Place de la Concorde in central Paris featured in a “A Moveable Feast” by Ernest Hemingway. “When I had money,” the American author wrote, “I went to the Crillon.”
