Dec. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Egypt’s benchmark EGX30 Index dropped 0.5 percent to 6,910.28 at the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo, the biggest loss in almost a week.
The following stocks rose or fell in Egypt. Symbols are in parentheses.
Ajwa for Food Industries Co. (AJWA EY) gained 2.1 percent, the most in more than a week, to 3.47 Egyptian pounds. The Cairo-based food maker reported its first profitable quarter in a year, according to Bloomberg data.
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC EY) increased 0.8 percent to 268.09 pounds, the highest level this month. Egypt’s biggest publicly traded builder said it started an American global depositary receipt program to allow its shares to be traded in the U.S.
