On Thursday morning, Deputy Secretary Wolin will attend the White House Tribal Nations Conference at the Department of the Interior. This event is pooled for TV and open to correspondents. Please contact the White House Press Office for additional details.
At 10 a.m., Secretary Geithner will testify before the Congressional Oversight Panel. Secretary Geithner will present an overview of the Administration’s response to the financial crisis, noting that our efforts, including the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), prevented a more severe economic recession and put the nation on the path of recovery. In addition, the Secretary will discuss how the taxpayers are being repaid and that the cost of the TARP program continues to fall. The hearing, which will be held in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, is open press.
Also Thursday morning, Treasurer Rios will autograph currency for members of the public at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). This event is open press.
