Sienna Miller Says Editor Ordered Phone Hacking, Guardian Says

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Actress Sienna Miller claimed News of the World’s top news editor ordered the hacking of her phone’s voice mail, and those of her friends and employees, to get personal information, the Guardian reported today.

Notes by a private investigator hired by the newspaper link the editor to the hacking, the Guardian said, citing a high court filing by Miller’s lawyers.

“We take seriously any allegation made about the conduct of a member of staff of the News of the World during the course of litigation. Should the allegation be proven, we will take appropriate action immediately,” the newspaper, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., said in a comment e-mailed to Bloomberg News.

Miller’s lawyers didn’t immediately respond to calls and e-mails by Bloomberg seeking comment.
