Real Wants Clichy
Real Madrid will offer striker Karim Benzema to Arsenal in exchange for defender Gael Clichy, the Daily Mirror reported.
The Spanish club, which signed Benzema for $50 million, is ready to cut its losses as it plans “transfer action” in the January window, the Mirror said.
Sam Allardyce could become West Ham coach if Avram Grant fails to lead the Hammers to at least one win in its next three games, the Daily Mail reported.
The team owners are eager to speak to Allardyce after he was dismissed by Blackburn, the Mail said. West Ham’s next games are against Blackburn, Fulham and Everton.
Alan Shearer is interested in returning to Blackburn to become coach, the Daily Mirror reported.
Shearer, who helped the team become champion in 1995, failed to prevent Newcastle from being relegated in a brief tenure as coach in 2009.
Al Fayed Pledge
Fulham owner Mohamed Al Fayed has told Mark Hughes his job as coach is safe and promised 10 million pounds ($15.6 million) to spend on players, the Daily Mail reported.
Hughes is interested in acquiring Manchester City’s Roque Santa Cruz, according to the Mail.
