Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Calpine Corp., a U.S. power producer, restored total power service at a Northern California electricity generator.
The company’s 593.2-megawatt Metcalf Energy Center was operating at full capacity as of 3:15 p.m. local time today, the California Independent System Operator said in a report.
The generator had 50.2 megawatts, or 8.5 percent of capacity, idled at the same time yesterday.
The natural gas-fired plant is in San Jose, California. One megawatt can power 800 typical U.S. homes.
