Matus Says Home Prices in U.S. Will Stop Falling Late Next Year

Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. home prices will stop falling by the fourth quarter of next year, said Drew Matus, managing director and senior U.S. economist at UBS Securities LLC Stamford, Connecticut.

“Home prices are set to stabilize,” Matus said today in a radio interview on “Bloomberg Surveillance” with Tom Keene. He said a study by his firm anticipates starts of new housing construction will total 600,000 this year and the same number next next year.
