Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Vietnam’s VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 1.7 percent to 452.83.
Societe de Bourbon Tay Ninh Joint-Stock Co. (SBT VN), the country’s biggest listed sugar company, surged 4.6 percent to 13,700 dong. Sacombank Securities Joint-Stock Co., Vietnam’s third-largest brokerage, has increased its stake in the company to 10.53 percent from 0.48 percent, according to a statement filed on the exchange’s website.
Gia Lai Cane Sugar Thermoelectricity Joint-Stock Co. (SEC VN), a producer of sugar cane and electricity, dropped 4.7 percent, the biggest decline since Nov. 22, to 28,400 dong. Phan Tinh, a member of the company’s management board, will sell 10,000 shares to cut his holding to 15,000 shares, according to a statement on the bourse’s website.
Hoa Binh Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (HRC VN) slid 0.8 percent to 61,000 dong. Rubber futures in Shanghai dropped as much as 1.9 percent.
