Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Emaar Economic City, a unit of Dubai-based developer Emaar Properties PJSC, said today that a joint-venture between Greif Inc. and Saudi Arabia’s National Scientific Company will construct a polypropylene fiber packaging plant at King Abdullah Economic City.
The facility will start production by 2012 and reach full capacity by 2016, Emaar Economic city said in an e-mailed statement today. Emaar, based in Jeddah, didn’t say how much the plant will cost.
Output from the site at full capacity will increase the Kingdoms’ share of the global polypropylene fibers market to 10 percent, said the company.
