Dec. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Ukrainian winter grains sprouted on 99.5 percent of planted areas as of Dec. 2, the Agriculture Ministry said.
Winter grains sprouted across 8.15 million hectares (20.1 million acres), the ministry said in a statement on its website. Grains were in good condition on 54.6 percent of planted areas and satisfactory condition on 37.8 percent.
Plants were classified as weak on 7.6 percent of winter-grain areas, compared with 8 percent a week earlier.
Winter wheat sprouted across 6.62 million hectares, or 99.5 percent of planted areas, and 56 percent of the plants are in good condition. Satisfactory wheat plants account for 36.7 percent of the total. Rapeseed sprouted on 99.9 percent of the planted areas, or 1.033 million hectares, the ministry said. Good and satisfactory rapeseed plants account for 53.4 percent and 36 percent, respectively, it said.
