Dec. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The 30-stock Micex Index gained 1.4 percent to 1,672.57 by the 6:45 p.m. close in Moscow. The dollar-denominated RTS Index gained 1.4 percent to 1,711.44.
The following were among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parenthesis.
OAO Aeroflot (AFLT RX) climbed to its highest level in more than two years, adding 1.9 percent to 83.94 rubles after Russia’s largest airline said it boosted net income 65 percent to $281 million in the first nine months as passenger numbers increased.
OAO Sberbank (SBER03 RX) rallied to its strongest in almost three years, gaining 2.6 percent to 105.71 rubles. Russia’s biggest lender said third-quarter profit climbed more than 10-fold as demand for loans increased.
X5 Retail Group NV (FIVE LI), a Russian supermarket chain, advanced to the highest level on record, rising 6.8 percent to $44 in London trading after the company announced it will buy smaller rival Kopeyka for 51.5 billion rubles ($1.6 billion).
