Israeli, Turkish Representatives Try to Fix Ties, Haaretz Says

Senior Israeli and Turkish representatives met in Geneva in an effort to draft an agreement that would calm tensions between the two countries, Haaretz reported without saying where it got the information.

Diplomats from both sides said they expect the understandings to include an Israeli apology over the May 31 incident in which nine Turks were killed when Israeli naval commandos boarded a ship attempting to break through Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip, the newspaper said.

A spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the report.
