Dec. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Gassco AS, operator of Norway’s natural-gas pipelines, said a flaring issue at its Kaarstoe plant has been solved and gas exports are increasing.

“We are now ramping up, and it will take some time till we are back to normal capacity,” Lisbet Kallevik, a spokeswoman for Bygnes, Norway-based Gassco, said today in an e-mail.

Kaarstoe can process as much as 88 million cubic meters of gas a day and send it via sub-sea pipelines to markets in mainland Europe as well as the U.K. Flaring is the burning off of unwanted gas for safety or other reasons.

Norway is the biggest foreign gas supplier to the U.K. and the second-biggest supplier to Europe after Russia.
