South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index rose for a third day, adding 231.75, or 0.7 percent, to 31,376.93 at the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.
Pioneer Food Group Ltd. (PFG SJ): The food company said annual earnings fell 58 percent to 234.5 million rand ($34.1 million) after it settled antitrust fines levied against it. The shares advanced 50 cents, or 1 percent, to 49.25 rand.
Rare Holdings Ltd. (RAR SJ): The maker of pipes and valves said it is in talks that may affect its share price. The shares were unchanged at 40 cents.
Steinhoff International Holdings Ltd. (SHF SJ): The furniture maker holds its annual general meeting. The shares gained 29 cents, or 1.3 percent, to 21.99 rand.
