Dec. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Complete Energy Holdings LLC, a Houston-based power producer, idled some production at a unit at a natural gas-fired California electricity plant.

The company’s 260-megawatt La Paloma Generating Plant Unit 2 had 17.2 megawatts idled as of 3:15 p.m. local time, according to a California Independent System Operator report.

The generating unit is part of Complete Energy Holdings’s 1,022-megawatt plant located in McKittrick, California, which is about 110 miles (177 kilometers) northwest of Los Angeles, according to the company’s website.

One megawatt can power 800 typical U.S. homes.
