Dec. 3 (Bloomberg) -- France’s online gambling regulator will issue its first sanctions decisions against three companies today on how they allow clients to open accounts and moderate games, Les Echos reported today, citing an interview with Jean-Francois Vilotte, the president of the Autorite de Regulation des Jeux en Ligne, or Arjel.
The new agency has sent out 125 notices since June and has trimmed the size of the illegal gambling market to “marginal,” the newspaper said, quoting Vilotte. He declined to name the sites targeted.
