South Africa’s Manufacturing Confidence Index Climbs to 41

Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- South Africa’s manufacturing confidence index climbed 11 points to 41 in the fourth quarter as export demand improved, the Bureau for Economic Research said.

Production volumes increased in the transport, machinery, chemical and base-metals industries, the bureau, based at the University of Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, said in an e-mailed statement today.
