Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may have unusual price changes in Indonesian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the last close.
The Jakarta Composite index rose 2.5 percent to 3,619.09.
Energy companies: Crude oil for January delivery rose to the highest level in almost three weeks in New York yesterday, advancing 3.1 percent to $86.75 a barrel. Oil was at $86.61 a barrel in after-hours trading as of 8:13 a.m. Jakarta time.
PT Medco Energi Internasional (MEDC IJ), Indonesia’s biggest listed oil company, fell 3.7 percent to 3,225 rupiah. PT Benakat Petroleum Energy (BIPI IJ), an oil producer, gained 1 percent to 101 rupiah.
PT Arpeni Pratama Ocean Line (APOL IJ): The Indonesian shipping company which defaulted on its debt last month said it is asking bond holders to enter into an agreement not to exercise any available rights or remedies, according to a Singapore stock exchange announcement. The default concerns Arpeni Pratama’s $140.85 million of 8.75 percent notes due May 2013, and bondholders are being asked to respond to the request by tomorrow, it said. Arpeni was unchanged at 119 rupiah.
PT Bank Mandiri (BMRI IJ): Indonesia’s biggest bank by assets will pay an interim dividend of 19.64 rupiah per share Dec. 30, Kontan reported today, without saying where it got the information. Mandiri gained 4.7 percent to 6,700 rupiah.
PT Semen Gresik (SMGR IJ): Indonesia’s largest cement producer plans to buy two Malaysian cement makers, Investor Daily reported, citing Semen Gresik President Director Dwi Soetjipto. Semen Gresik will allocate $500 million for the purchases, the newspaper said. It didn’t identify the Malaysian companies. Semen Gresik was unchanged at 9,200 rupiah.
PT Bank CIMB Niaga (BNGA IJ): The local unit of Malaysia’s CIMB Group Holdings Bhd. will sell as much as 500 billion rupiah of subordinated bonds December 17-20, the Indonesian lender said in a prospectus published in Bisnis Indonesia. CIMB Niaga rose 0.6 percent to 1,670 rupiah.
