Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Sales of illegally imported cigarettes in South Africa have more than doubled to 6.3 billion cigarette sticks over the past two years, Business Report said.

The number of legitimate cigarette sticks sold in South Africa declined to 21 billion this year from 25 billion in 2008, the Johannesburg-based newspaper said, citing Fay Kajee, the director of corporate and regulatory affairs of British American Tobacco Plc’s South African unit.
