Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Calpine Corp., the biggest U.S. producer of power fueled by natural gas, curtailed output at a Northern California plant.
The company’s 561.3-megawatt Los Medanos Energy Center was completely idled in a planned shutdown as of 3:15 p.m. local time, the California Independent System Operator said in a report.
The plant is near San Francisco in Pittsburg, California. One megawatt is enough for about 800 typical U.S. homes.
