Gibson’s Edmonton Oil Terminal in Canada Has ‘Small’ Fire

Gibson Energy Ltd. had a “small fire” today at its oil terminal in Edmonton, Canada, according to a statement issued by the company.

“Although the terminal was temporarily shut down as a precaution, there are not anticipated to be any material business interruption impacts,” Frank Janzen, vice president of terminals and pipelines, said in a statement on the company’s website.

The affected tank had been emptied for routine maintenance, according to the statement. The fire is under investigation.

Gibson, a Canadian pipeline company based out of Calgary, has a combined storage capacity of over 2 million barrels and average throughput capacity over 250,000 barrels of oil a day, according to the company.
