Most French stocks fell with the CAC 40 Index slipping 0.1 percent to 3,913.7 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Paris, while the SBF 120 Index also dropped 0.1 percent.

Alcatel-Lucent SA (ALU FP) slid 2.7 percent to 2.28 euros, erasing the previous day’s advance. France’s largest telecommunications equipment maker was downgraded to “underperform” from “market perform” at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.
Ciments Francais SA (CMA FP) declined 2.6 percent to 66.11 euros, ending the stock’s longest winning streak since March. The construction-material producer posted an 8.1 percent drop in nine-month operating profit to 662.7 million euros ($923.5 million) and forecast a decrease in fourth-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
Eurofins Scientific SA (ERF FP) surged 7.8 percent to 47.79 euros, the highest price in two years. The provider of quality testing for wine and drugmakers said that margins and profitability will increase in 2011, helped by economic growth and a recovering biological analysis market.
Nexeya (ALEUR FP) jumped 3.7 percent to 10.94 euros, the highest price in eight months. The defense-electronics maker’s fiscal first-quarter revenue climbed 18 percent to 27.5 million euros.
Soitec (SOI FP) rallied 16 percent to 8.40 euros after EETimes, an electrical engineering publication, reported that Intel Corp. may opt for a manufacturing process that uses the French company’s technology.
Zodiac Aerospace (ZC FP) soared 5.8 percent to 52.65 euros, ending the longest falling streak in a month. Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation may buy Zodiac Aerospace, La Lettre de L’Expansion reported, without citing anyone.
