EU Carbon Permits Fall to Three-Week Low as German Power Drops

European Union carbon-dioxide allowances declined to their lowest level in more than three weeks as German power dropped to its cheapest since April 14.

EU permits for December fell as much as 12 cents, or 0.8 percent, to 14.91 euros ($20.59) a metric ton, the lowest price since Sept. 24, and were at 14.99 euros a ton as of 8:45 a.m. on London’s European Climate Exchange.

German power for settlement next year declined as much as 0.5 percent to 47.75 euros a megawatt-hour and was stable at 48 euros as of 9:47 a.m. Berlin time, broker data show.
