Oct. 17 (Bloomberg) -- John Clay rushed for two touchdowns and David Gilreath opened the game with a 97-yard kickoff return for a score as No. 18 University of Wisconsin upset top-ranked Ohio State University in college football.
Clay ran for touchdowns of 14 yards and 1 yard as Wisconsin took a 21-3 lead at halftime at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin.
Ohio State rallied in the second half on scoring runs of 13 yards and 1 yard by Dan Herron to come within three points at 21-18 with 11:38 left in the fourth quarter.
Wisconsin sealed the win with a 12-yard touchdown run by James White and a 41-yard field goal by Philip Welch.
At Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, the University of Texas defeated No. 5 University of Nebraska 20-13.
Garrett Gilbert scored twice on short runs and Justin Tucker kicked field goals of 27 and 28 yards for the Longhorns.
The Cornhuskers were held to two field goals by Alex Henery and a 95-yard scoring punt return by Eric Hagg with 3:02 left in the game.
