Asian Development Bank Sells Inaugural Clean Energy Bonds

Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The Asian Development Bank sold $232.2 million in clean energy bonds to support its renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Asia-Pacific, according to a media statement from the lender.

The notes are the Manila-based bank’s first clean energy bonds and come after the sale of its inaugural water bond in April, the statement said.

The sale included four-year bonds denominated in Australian dollars, four- and seven-year bonds denominated in Brazilian real and seven-year bonds denominated in Turkish lira, the statement said. HSBC Holdings Plc managed the sale.
