Sept. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Tom Brady agreed to a four-year contract extension with the New England Patriots, Sports Illustrated reported on its website, citing team owner Robert Kraft.
Kraft declined to discuss the details of the deal with the 33-year-old Brady, one of four quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl three times.
The accord is worth $72 million, with $48.5 million guaranteed, making Brady the highest-paid player in the National Football League, ESPN said. Brady’s average annual pay will be $2 million more a year than New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.
Brady reported to practice yesterday, hours after being involved in a two-vehicle accident near his Boston home, the team said. The driver of the van involved in the accident was cited for running a red light, the Boston Globe said.
