France’s CAC 40 Index advanced 33.4, or 0.9 percent, to 3,677.21. The SBF 120 Index also gained 0.9 percent.
The following is a list of companies whose shares may move in Paris. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.
AXA SA (CS FP): A regulator blocked National Australia Bank Ltd.’s planned A$13.3 billion ($12.2 billion) takeover of asset manager AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd. for a second time, clearing the way for AMP Ltd. to renew its challenge. AXA shares rose 0.2 percent to 13.02 euros.
Cegedim SA (CGM FP): The medial information-services provider bought French e-invoicing company Deskom for an undisclosed sum. The shares added 0.2 percent to 53.93 euros.
Credit Agricole SA (ACA FP): The bank’s insurance unit agreed to buy life cover provider Axeria Vie and April Patrimoine from Lyon-based broker April Group (APR FP). Credit Agricole shares fell 1.7 percent to 10.46 euros, while April declined 0.2 percent to 20.91 euros.
Electricite de France SA (EDF FP) and Areva SA (CEI FP): The companies are in talks over a strategic accord that has been demanded by the French government and which could be concluded by the end of the year, La Tribune reported, without saying where it got the information. EDF’s shares gained 0.3 percent to 32.93 euros. Areva’s stock increased 1.1 percent to 322.90 euros.
Iliad SA (ILD FP): The French government will raise the sales tax on Internet services to 19.6 percent from 5.5 percent, Wansquare reported, without saying where it got the information. The shares advanced 3.6 percent to 74.82 euros. Rival provider France Telecom SA (FTE FP) gained 1.1 percent to 16.26 euros, Vivendi SA (VIV FP) added 0.8 percent to 19.53 euros and Bouygues SA (EN FP) lost 0.4 percent to 32.03 euros.
Korian (KORI FP): The retirement-home operator said net income increased to 8 million euros ($10.2 million) in the first half from 6.5 million euros a year earlier. The shares fell 0.6 percent to 16.41 euros.
Linedata Services (LIN FP): The software provider said first-half net income climbed to 6.4 million euros from 4.4 million euros. The shares dropped 1.3 percent to 9.34 euros.
OL Groupe (OLG FP): The operator of football club Olympique Lyonnais will join the SBF250 and CAC Small 90 Indexes on Sept. 20. The shares fell 0.3 percent to 7.48 euros.
Unibail-Rodamco (UL FP): The real-estate investor said it plans to pay investors 20 euros per share on Oct. 12. The shares increased 1.1 percent to 157.05 euros.
