Jason Todd Quits Global Equity Strategist Job at Morgan Stanley

Jason Todd has left Morgan Stanley as a global equity strategist, according to Sandra Hernandez, a spokeswoman for the New York-based securities firm.

Todd had given the firm’s forecasts for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index since the January 2009 departure of Abhijit Chakrabortti. Adam Parker will take on that role as U.S. equity strategist, Hernandez said. Parker was hired this year from Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.

Todd joined Morgan Stanley in November 2007. He was formerly a U.S. equity strategist at JPMorgan Chase & Co., according to a biography on the Morgan Stanley website. He didn’t immediately return calls for comment.

Stephen Penwell, head of North America equity research, will oversee Parker. Gerard Minack is the head of global equity market strategy at Morgan Stanley.
